Bobby James Bean, 74, of Newcastle, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born November 27, 1950, in Purcell, Oklahoma, he was the older of two children born to Sidney James Bean and Jimaleen (Lambert) Bean.
He was raised near Maysville and attended school there, graduating with the Warrior Class of 1969. He then attended Okmulgee Tech and he studied to be a diesel mechanic.
During high school he met Belinda Arlene Andrews and they were later married on May 7, 1971, in Washington, where they began their life together. Just a few short weeks later, Bobby answered the call in service to his country and joined the United States Army.
Bobby and Belinda raised two children, son David and daughter Sarah. Bobby was a hard worker and a great provider and his work really was his hobby. He started as a mechanic at American Farm Lines, worked for Tri-State Trism, and the last 23 years at Waggoners Trucking. Away from work, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and supporting his granddaughters in all their activities.
His heart was always on the farm, and he loved tending to the day-to-day operations, checking cows, running fence, and cutting hay. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Sidney and Jimaleen Bean, and his sister, Nancy Chapman.
Bobby is survived by: his loving wife, Belinda Bean; son David Bean and wife Tracy of Newcastle; daughter Sarah Carlton and husband Bryan of Newcastle; his pride and joy, grandchildren Sydney Rice and husband Tyler, Kaitlyn Bean and Bailey Carlton; great-grandson Brixton; and a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Maysville Cemetery.
