This summer, skip the bug spray and pack your good deed instead — because Camp Donor is rolling into town! The Our Blood Institute is teaming up with the City of Newcastle for a community blood drive full of retro camp vibes and real-life impact.
Join the fun from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20 at the Newcastle Storm Shelter, 901 N. Carr Drive.
All successful donors will receive:
• A limited-edition “Camp Donor” T-shirt with a vintage camp design.
• A collectible Camp Donor badge sticker to show off your donor pride.
• And for Newcastle donors, a free ticket to either Frontier City or Hurricane Harbor in Oklahoma City!
“Summer is the perfect time to rally around a cause — and what better cause than saving lives?” said Jeannette McNally, assistant city manager for the City of Newcastle. “We’re excited to partner with Our Blood Institute and bring a little summer camp spirit to our community while supporting a vital need.”
Summer blood supplies tend to run low, and every donation helps hospitals across Oklahoma.
Campers (aka blood donors) of all experience levels are welcome — whether you’re a rookie or a returning champion.
