A Welcome Back Day is being planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce for Newcastle Public Schools’ teachers and staff. The Chamber will have a luncheon for the staff on Teacher Training Day set for August 1.
The Chamber began collecting gift baskets, goodies and monetary donations to say thank you to educators. A Chamber spokesperson said this is being done because they give so much back to the students and to the community.
The donated items will be presented to the teachers during the luncheon.
This Chamber event is being presented by Pioneer Fiber and The First National Bank and Trust. Dessert for the luncheon is sponsored by Legacy Bank. Those who have donated items to the Chamber will be recognized on a donor list.
