NHS Pom brings home awards from camp
Newcastle High School’s 2025-26 Pom team recently took part in a camp at the University of Oklahoma. Pictured, right to left from top: Head Coach Madison Rider, Avyn Puckett, Kynlee Bass, Avery Wise, Brinkley Reitz, Jeh’da Hankins, Tatum Flowers, Riley Wilmoth, Assistant Coach Hannah Beeson; bottom row — Isabella Kelley, Chesney McLean, Maddie Britton, and Maleigh Brasel. They won a Superior Trophy and a bid to Nationals. They won the Most Improved award, and a spirit stick. They had seven All-Americans, two invites to Varsity Spirit Spectacular, a privilege invite to college dance team, and they won 2nd place for their home routine. • photo provided
