Norman retires as Police Chief; Garvin named interim chief
Chief of Police Gary Norman has retired from service at Newcastle.
Norman served the City for 32 years, 19 of those has been as Chief of Police.
The City named Toby Garvin as Interim Chief of Police. They will advertise for the position this month, according to City Manager Kevin Self.
Garvin has been Assistant Police Chief since June 2021.
