Newcastle Public Schools is looking to hire a new Athletic Director. Former AD Brent Hodges resigned after the 2024-25 school year to take a position with Edmond North High School.
Hodges said the decision to leave Newcastle Public Schools was not easy but was a good move for his family.
The successful applicant for the AD position will provide leadership and coordination for all district athletic programs, and ensure compliance with district policies and state and national athletic regulations.
The role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the athletic programs across the district to support student growth, team success, and community engagement.
The person will oversee and manage all athletic programs (middle school and high school), ensuring alignment with district goals and Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) regulations.
They’ll develop and maintain athletic schedules, coordinate transportation, and secure officials for athletic contests. They will supervise and evaluate coaches and athletic staff, providing professional development and support as needed. And, they will prepare and manage the athletic department budget, including fundraising, purchasing, and inventory of equipment and uniforms.
