Newcastle’s Golf team took part in the Class 5A State Golf Championship at Muskogee Country Club last week, coming home with a 10th place finish.
C laremore’s team was named State Champions with a total three day team score of 892. Bishop McGuiness came in second with a 908, and Tulsa Bishop Kelley had a 916 for third place. Newcastle’s score on the tourney was an even 1000.
The top individual for Class 5A State was Booker T. Washington’s Harrison Shaw, who shot a three-day total of 211. He had rounds of 72, 73 and 66.
Newcastle golfer Carston Pueppke led the team with a 235, shooting rounds of 74, 94 and 74. Caden Viss shot an 80, 77, 85 for a total of 242. Keaton Fuksa shot a 90, 82, 87 for a total of 259.
Radek McCall shot 88, 86, 87 for a 261. And, Mason Dobbs shot 89, 92, 86 for a total of 269.
