Several Racer Track & Field make State

Shumard going for the boys; Lewis, Brooks, 4X4 Relay for the Racer girls

Several girls and one boy from Newcastle High School will participate in the State Track and Field Championships May 16-17 at Western Heights High School.

Alec Shumard was the 400m Champion and the 800m Champion at the Regional Track Meet May 10 at Moore. Newcastle competed among schools from Blanchard, Carl Albert, Del City, El Reno, Elgin, Guymon, John Marshall, Santa Fe South, and Southeast.

Katie Lewis was the Champion in Pole Vault, the 100m Hurdles, and she won the silver medal in the 300m Hurdles.

Jordie Brooks was the Long Jump Champion, an Brylee Scott won bronze in the Shot Put. Also bronze medalists for Newcastle were the 4X4 Relay team of Emma Bell, Addyson Bush, Rylee Heskew, and KK Horton.
