Newcastle Public Schools announces its band students who competed at State Solo & Ensemble contest recently at Oklahoma State University.
A school spokesperson said many of the students not only performed solos, but also in ensembles.
Students and ensembles participating, along with their awards, are the following: Katelynn Lewis, superior; Jared Wickham, superior; Cooper Lamb, superior; Woodwind Trio, superior; Clarinet Quartet, excellent; Percussion Quintet, superior; Percussion Duet, superior; Abby Barnes, good; Braxton Cyrus, excellent; Jakob Kastens, superior; Johnny Tisby, excellent; and Thelma Amudzi, superior.
