Approximately 90 people gathered at the Newcastle Library Community Center to network and hear Mayor Karl Nail discuss the State of the City.
The annual luncheon, a function of the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, is intended to provide those attending with an update of the City’s financial position, planned andongoingimprovements,anddevelopment and growth.
Highlightsofthespeechincluded new information on the East-West Connector Turnpike, the Chickasaw Nation Medical Complex and infrastructure projects.
Mayor Nail provided comment while navigating through a Power-Point presentation with graphs and artwork, giving further details.
Nail said this year’s State of the City would be focused more on facts and figures, because he believes it is important for the citizens to know where the City is as a community. He noted that his topics will give an example of what the City is doing to build generationally, providing things that will outlast the current leaders, and making investments in the community the right way. He said the City leaders work very hard day in and day out to do things the right way for the City of Newcastle.
