Racer Boys 4th, Girls 7th at Chickasha Meet

At the Chickasha track meet the Newcastle Racers continued setting new personal records and season records. Head Coach Jason Haggerty said, “Overall, the boys finished fourth out of 15 teams and the girls finished seventh out of 15 teams.”

Haggerty said scoring points for the girls were the following athletes: Katie Lewis - 22 points (2nd place in pole vault, 2nd place in the 100m hurdles, 3rd place in the 300m hurdles) Jordie Brooks - 10 points (1st place in long jump) Addy Bush - 8 points (3rd place 800m run, 4th place 4x4 relay) Emma Bell - 2 points ( 4th place 4x4 relay) Rylee Heskew - 2 points (4th place 4x4 relay) KK Horton - 2 points (4th place 4x4 relay) Haggerty reported that scoring points for the boys were the following athletes: Alec Shumard - 24 points (1st place in the 400m dash and 4x8 relay, 3rd place in the 200m dash and 4x4 relay) Luke Perkins - 8 points (1st place in the 4x8 relay, 3rd place in the 4x4 relay) Timo Porter - 8 points ( 1st place in the 4x8 relay, 3rd place in the 4x4 relay) TJ Bradford - 8 points (2nd place in long jump) Chris Brinlee- 7 points (3rd place in 4x4 relay, 4th place in long jump) Kael Brickman - 5 points (1st place in 4x8 relay) Next up for Racers’ track and field is a trip Friday to compete at Ardmore.
