In the area communities near Newcastle, only six of the 18 municipalities registered gains over their 2024 sales and use tax collections.
Only Purcell, Byars, Noble, Wanette and Dibble were in the black over last year.
Every other town including Newcastle and McClain County were down compared to 2024 numbers.
Newcastle had a decrease of $96,202.78 in 2025 compared to 2024 returns. Noble had the highest gain total with a mark of $28,430.88, and Purcell was up $20,861.98 over the 2024 numbers.
