A community-wide chili cook-off is being planned by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Walmart.
The event will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, December 13, and is being hosted by the Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N. Main.
Businesses and organizations are asked to sign up. The entry is $25. A portion of the proceeds will go to first responders.
