Johnny Gale Sheets

Johnny Gale Sheets, 76, of Newcastle, passed from this life on Thursday, August 30, 2018, in Oklahoma City. The son of Elva Asberry Cummins and Leola Mildred (Morse) Cummins, he was born on January 12, 1942, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Johnny was a 1960 graduate of U.S. Grant High School and served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He graduated from OSU Tech with a degree in offset lithography. Johnny owned and operated Sheets Printing and Graphics LTD in Oklahoma City for many years until his retirement. He married Jerri Lancaster on December 7, 2001 in Oklahoma City. Johnny was a member of Southpointe Church in Oklahoma City. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the India Shrine, Past Master of the Blanchard Masonic Lodge, and had several other Masonic affiliations. In his earlier years, Johnny had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying small aircraft. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and fixing anything that needed repaired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kent Allen Sheets; and his brother and sister-in-law, James and Martha Sheets.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Jerri Sheets of Newcastle; two sons, Todd Eugene Sheets and wife, Lori, and Kevin John Sheets and wife, Shawna, all of Newcastle; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Cheryl Scott and husband, Jesse, of Warr Acres; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial followed in the Blanchard Cemetery.     John Sheets smile will be missed. I attended church with John for several years. He always had a kind word and smile to give to me and all my family.I know he is in a better place. You will be missed.
