Newcastle Casino is looking for teams to participate in its first ever co-ed softball tournament. The tournament will take place on May 19 at the Wild Horse Softball Complex in Mustang, OK and all proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.
“The American Heart Association Heart Walk has been an ongoing community event that we have been a part of for years, and we’re always looking for new ways to raise money for such a worthy cause,” said Ryan Sykes, Newcastle Casino general manager. “The idea of a softball tournament was one where we could not only raise money, but also provide a day of fun for the community.”
Registration is open to co-ed teams made up of five men and five women. The entry fee is $250 if paid before April 20. After April 20, the entry fee goes up to $350 and all teams must be registered by May 10. Umpire fees and game balls are included in the fee. Wristbands that allow team members to hit unlimited homeruns will be available for $20 per person.
The winning team will take home $1,000 plus t-shirts for each team member. Second and third place teams will receive $500 and $250, respectively.
Gate admission is $5 and free for children 10 and under. There will be raffles, Indian tacos and more available the day of the event.
