Phillip Wayne Lomax, age 74, of Tuttle, OK was born February 15, 1943 and entered his heavenly home January 8, 2018 at 8:30 A.M. Phillip was raised in Beggs, OK. Where he met the woman of his dreams, Helen. They married on November 18, 1962 and spent 56 years having amazing adventures together. Phillip joined the Air Force and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Helen and Phil lived in England and Hawaii while Phil was in the Air Force. After the Air Force Phil and Helen settled in Cleveland, Mo where they built a home on their farm and raised their 3 children for 15 years while Phil worked as an airplane mechanic at Richards Gebaur Air Force base. Phil completed his college degree in Agriculture at Central Mo. State University in 1979. In 1989 Phil began working for the FAA in 1989 and was transferred to Baton Rouge, LA. In 1992 he was transferred back to Oklahoma City where he wrote articles about aircraft and their failing parts until he retired in 2001. Phil loved to fish, hunt and garden, but most of all he loved spending time with his family as well as all of the people he adopted as family. He was always there with a helping hand to lend whenever someone was in need. He loved his church, and the additional kids he adopted there as well. Phil was loved by so many because he loved with his whole heart and nothing less.
Phillip is preceded in death by his mother Margaret Lomax, father Phillip E. Lomax, grandson Timothy V. Lomax, and multiple Aunts and Uncles.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 56 years Helen Lomax of Tuttle, OK., his children Philip and Patty Lomax of Dallas, TX, Lynn and Jim Tucker of Broken Arrow Oklahoma and Pamela Bradley of Midwest City, OK., grandchildren Sarah Lomax of Tulsa, Danielle Fox of Texas, Emily and Lauren Tucker of Broken Arrow and Dakota Bradley of Duncan, OK. Great Grandchildren Kassidi and Hunter Lomax of Kansas.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, Newcastle, OK. Burial will follow at 2:30 P.M., at West Lawn Cemetery in Henryetta, OK.
